Satisfying protein demand of up to 8000 adults per year.
Providing up to 1 ton per hectare back to participating farmers for application on their farm.
(Net) Heat for an average of 140 households per year.
1000+ tons (net) of carbon dioxide securely removed for every growth cycle.
Hempseed as superfoods to serve food security and provide a plant-based protein alternative.
The nutrition enriched biochar is a more ecological alternative to mineral fertilizer and drastically lowers the footprint of the food production supply-chain.
Pyrolysis generates thermal energy as a substitute of natural gas for heating. All this decentralised and politically independent.
Once the biochar is applied to the soil, the end-use of this carbon sink is guaranteed and can be certified with the highest possible standards. These certificates create critical revenue to finance every project.
On a project size of roughly 600 hectares, our farm system design allows for the simultaneous climate- and energy-neutral production of several goods.
Hemp is the ideal candidate to be implemented in global crop rotations, and its cultivation bears regenerative potential. Its extraordinary ecological properties are widely recognised. The seed has a superb nutrition profile that make it a superfood for human consumption - a plant-based protein substitute. Simultaneously, the carbon-rich stalk can be utilised as a carbon sink, but, in food production, is most often a by-product. The resource-use efficiency, environmental friendliness and circular character make hemp an outstanding crop for the bioeconomy.
When a plant dies at the end of its life cycle, its biological decomposition begins and the absorbed carbon returns to the atmosphere. To prevent this, the biomass can be pyrolysed - a thermal treatment at a minimum of 400 °C and the absence of oxygen.
Due to homogeneity and fast growth, Hemp Stalk is significantly promising input material for the production of biochar, creating additional value for the environment and farmers wallets.
The application of nutrition-enriched biochar to the soil further creates benefits like increase of crop yields, reduction of fertiliser use as well as greenhouse gas emissions from cultivation, supports the humus formation, water holding capacity and nutrient buffering.
We carefully monitor our projects to deliver robust environmental assessments. From seed to soil, we follow a holistic approach and track all emissions along our processes. It is our intention to create a win-win for everyone involved, from farmer to product buyer and society at large. With our environmental assessments, we want to transparently ensure that our projects are truly regenerative and have no hidden true cost for the environment or society.
Field Precision Technology delivers data for robust forecasting of environmental impacts and allows for consecutive climate-optimisation of every project. This is how we don't guess but use real-time data to be on the safe side. Furthermore, platform technology allows us to coordinate involved stakeholders and make sure that everyone knows what to do and when to do it.
